The Reflections Project was founded in 2009 by Rebecca Miller, better known by her model name, Rebecca Marchand. Upset by the constant competiton in the Philadelphia alternative scenes, Rebecca began to fall away from the scene she'd grown up with. After a particularly disturbing drama-based event, Rebecca began to ask herself and others several questions: Why had everything become about competition; why were people degrading themselves for other's entertainment; where had the art gone; and most importantly, where was the sense of community that was once so much stronger?

Driven by these questions, Rebecca set out to create an event that served a greater purpose: art for the sake of art, fashion for the sake of fashion - nothing for the sake of the individual, but all for the community. Even as the event creator, Rebecca didn't want to benefit from the event. No competition to her meant equality for all involved. Based on this, Rebecca decided that her event would serve the best ends by being a benefit for the greater community, rather than one person. Every year, Reflections donates 100% of the post-expense proceeds to charities. In the combined two years Reflections has existed, Reflections has generated several thousand dollars in post-expense donations for local and nation charies for AIDS and children's arts programs. It may seem like a small ammount, but no ammount is too small. This year, we are proud to announce that we will be doning our proceeds to the Philadelphia Magic Gardens, a South Street art fixture and sanctuary for creative souls with a focus on children and community.

This year, Reflections Art and Fashion Show will be held at The Starlight Ballroom in Philadelphia on OCTOBER 22NDth from 8PM-2AM, and tickets are only $9 in advance or $12 at the door.
